Step Back

I’m at a place in my life, when I have to look at my plate.. push it back,  and say I’ve had enough. Day to day life can be a little stressful. Those who you’ve protected, aren’t there to protect you. The love and support I thought had from others seems a bit faded at times… But there’s no time to question, sulk in what I can’t explain,  or give up. So I step back. Everyone needs a rest… the mind, the one we’ve been exhausting just to find a way to brighten not  only ourselves but others lives,  needs peace! Everything has it’s seasons, sometimes we have to step back, step away and let the fog clear so we can continue our  journey in a better perspective.  #staysilentandwatch

Be Quiet

As I walked along a path I met a new acquaintance who asked me to call her Rare. She was quiet, listened to all my rants, raves, and many praises that I felt needed to be said. At first I didn’t notice that at no time did she interrupt me, but sat there and listened with a small smile on her face.  Many of our talks went on like this,  it seemed she rarely had an outburst or a care in the world. I began to explain that although i thought her name matched her demeanor, I ask her what would make her parents name her Rare. She laughed and said,  “You’re a blessing to many but you allow too many issues to pass without communication… and when you do,  it’s overwhelming to you. YOU love deeply, and forgive quickly, but  One thing you must learn is how to be swift to hear and slow to speak. ”  Since then, I’ve gotten better at hearing and slower to speak on things, and it has deepened my understanding that not all disagreements needed to be fought out,  but all should be prayed about and All should end in “I love you regardless.” My acquaintance did tell me why her nickname was “Rare,” and that was because her real name was DISCERNMENT.
